Courted by a Mono Lion

This was one of my most epic tracking experiences ever ~ following this mountain lion trail at twilight along Wilson Creek near Mono Lake just a few days ago. She skirted the edges of this riparian zone across pumice dust and gravel bars for miles, sagebrush blooming and nighthawks calling. SO fun!

Honestly it didn't seem epic because it was a lion (although that was amazing to find!). Instead it was epic for me to surrender to the trail, again and again, step by invisible step. It was an awesome trail to follow in part because it seemed impossible and I just kept surrendering to it, through brush, across roads and over gravel bars that invited me to follow a more felt-sense imaginal path that just kept luring me in and confirming the trail. I felt courted by that lion, that place, by my own passion to stay on path and to touch the wild truth... So cool. So grateful.
