Watershed Walks
SF Bay Watersheds and Beyond
Walking with your local Waters through the Seasons
Inspired by the Walking Water pilgrimage and this common call to be of deep service in community, Watershed Walks is a series of walking meditations along the paths of wild local waters. With each walk we ask wholeheartedly:
"What can I learn from this water?"
"How can we live in true reciprocity with the waters in our watershed?"
"What have people done to respect and protect these waters in the past, and what can we do today?"
We begin in a circle with a common intention or question, then walk slowly in silence, and we listen. We occasionally stop to touch the water, to sit with it. We later break silence with a witness council to share stories, curiosities and insights from the walk.
Most walks begin near sunrise and end by noon, followed by an optional picnic lunch then Watershed Tracks, a guided wildlife tracking session to notice and celebrate the life in the watershed. All are welcome to join morning walks and/or afternoon tracking sessions. Watershed Walks are intended to primarily serve the water and all of the life that water supports. Donations with heart are welcomed to support future offerings. Your presence and gratitude is just enough. Thank you.
