Oh, what a day! Adolescents and pilgrimage? Really?!
Chico students of The Wildflower School walked this mini and potent water pilgrimage with Lagunitas Creek in my home watershed just before the Bioneers Conference. So simple, natural and meaningful.

After hiking up to Kent Lake, we shared favorite places and stories of water, a kind of invocation into the center of our circle...
They found a stick, touched string to water with sincere wishes, then tied the two together to co-create a walking staff...
An empty bottle received waters from the local reservoir, then included some of their home waters from Chico and from Walking Water with waters from around the world, a pilgrimage that is walking through LA right now...
"We hiked to get up here, but the walk downstream will be a bit different." We walked in silence for an hour, carrying the water, staff and wishes with care, then broke silence with a council in the redwoods by the creek.
They were touched and curious, to my delight. What a blessing. An hour later they walked into the Bioneers Youth Orientation circle with their own impulse to offer some water to that center with staff in hand. I'M SO GRATEFUL, what a privilege, oh my...
